Elle & Tom Limebear – God Cares For You (Devotional)

God Cares For You

ΓÇ£The name that is over creation, set boundaries around the ocean – is keeping me now, still keeping me nowΓÇ¥

One of the great mysteries of our faith is how our God is totally infinite yet completely intimate. He holds the world together, yet still holds our hearts within his hands. He split seas and calms storms, yet breathed into our very being to give us life. He speaks and the seasons change, yet he knows every tiny detail of our lives.

Have you ever looked up at the stars at night or stopped and looked around at the mountains? TheyΓÇÖre beautiful. Looking around at creation fills me with awe, but sometimes overwhelms me and leaves me feeling insignificant in comparison to the stars in the night sky or the mountains that stand above the clouds. You might not feel that from looking around at creation, but you might feel insignificant compared to the other people in your class, or a work colleague, or a friend.

Today, lift your eyes to heaven and remind yourself that God, the creator of the universe, the one who holds the world together, the one who knitted you together in your mother’s womb, cares intimately for you.

Comparison steals joy, robs us of purpose and mis-shapes our identity. You donΓÇÖt need to look to your left or your right. Today, lift your eyes to heaven and remind yourself that God, the creator of the universe, the one who holds the world together, the one who knitted you together in your motherΓÇÖs womb, cares intimately for you.

The Bible tells us to ΓÇ£cast all our worry/anxiety on to him, for he cares for you.ΓÇ¥ ItΓÇÖs a simple truth – God cares for you. He cares about what you had for breakfast, he cares about your hopes, your relationships, your dreams, and ambitions. He knows your innermost being and cares about your life more than you can even comprehend.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you that you hold the universe together yet still care about every detail of my life. I pray that you would show me how big you are today and remind me that you are in control. In Jesus Name, Amen.
